Messy start to Wild Rover
The Frozen Shamrock 3 miler was still on Sunday (2/27) despite the stormy weather.  Luckily start time was 1pm so there was plenty of time to get a car shoveled out and make the race.  The snow ended prior to the start so roads were pretty clear.  The start was a bit strange; a car blocked half the road and then everyone stopped to avoid a puddle. What's up with that?  Just run thru it!  Times were good for almost all of us but most importantly we got part 1 of the medal.  :)  I'll get in a few more treadmill days with Cathy as my final week off from work winds down....and then on to the Claddagh Pub's 4 miler!

5m seems like nothing these days - YEAH!
Training has been going well.  I took a month off work (2 weeks have passed now) and this has given me more training time.  I've got at least 2 5m/week sessions which makes me feel a whole lot better.  Most of the DRC ran the Bradford Valentine 5m race on Feb. 12.  It was good to get a race in as it has been a while.  The course was pretty clear and only a couple of icy patches.  Everyone seemed pleased with their times.

Now we look forward to the Wild Rover Series.  :)  Last year's bling was pretty nice so I'm looking forward to another cool medal as well as some great tech shirts.

Going thru the NE Runner calendar as well as a few of our fav websites is getting me excited about getting back outdoors.  A few warm days this past week has given us a peek to spring.  Can't wait....the winter has been a harsh one and I am done.  :)
